Welcome to 12 days of creators. Creating for me is an important thing and more important is the creators behind it. For these 12 days, I’m spotlighting a new creator each day. I want to give you an opportunity to view their creativity.
Hi, I’m Mellie! I take boring reusable cups and create them into cute ones you definitely want to be seen holding.
What is your inspiration for your content?
I always base this on my favorite things, such as coffee, Christmas, mom life, sarcasm, and just fun designs with lots of fun colors.
What motivates you to create?
My supporters! The love & support I receive every time I make a new item is what fuels me to keep going.
What got you interested in creating your content
I have always wanted a CRICUT machine, and when the pandemic hit I was stuck at home on weekends with everything being closed, I ordered it and decided reusable cups sounded fun, and it’s been the best decision ever!
Who is your favorite content creator?
I have TWO. “tessmadeit_ & bennyandthecricuts” these two ladies have been an amazing asset to my life! They support me in so many ways, and give the best business advice. We might be hundreds of miles away but we are BESTIES!
How do you decide what content/style you are creating?
I just go with the mood I am feeling that day, I try so much to never look at other cup makers’ content, so I don’t get caught up on wanting to be at their level. I just do me, and go with the flow.
Are there hobbies or interests that helped you develop your content?
I always knew I was crafty, I just needed that extra push to execute my craftiness.
What are some creative challenges you face?
working full time & family life. I find that being such a challenge working a long day, and still having to create new items late at night. I am a busy mom, I not only work full time, but own another business, volunteer during my “free time”, and much more…
Can you share your favorite piece and explain your process.
My favorite piece to date oddly enough isn’t a cup. I decided to make a cake topper which I had no idea how to even begin. I designed it, cut it on multiple glitter cardstock, and layered each piece one by one, with a 3D sticker effect. Definitely, my favorite project I made this year.
