Happy New Year, This is the first blog of 2022!
After blogmas ended I flew on Christmas day to spend the holiday with my family. Being “home” for the holiday season is something that never really happens for me. Usually, I stay in Arizona and spend time with my family here. But in the month I had lost a loved one and just really needed to be with my family in Oklahoma. It was beautiful like always to be home and do traditional things that my family does. During that time I completely shut down and walked away from blogging to take a break. I love blogging but it’s okay to embrace a break. So today we are going to embrace that refresh and begin our new year with a skincare routine.

If you are new here hi, hello and welcome. My name is Breana and I love discussing and discovering everything beauty. You can subscribe to my blog by clicking that follow button. And make sure to click that LIKE button so I can keep making content for you!

I had a friend currently talked to me about skincare. They had so many questions about products they see online and on TikTok. They kept saying there are so many products out there and I just don’t know??

Something I’ll let you in on a secret, is to do what is best for your skin. Not what everyone is using or saying is what works best for you. I am going to show you different products that work for me and my skin. Maybe those will be your fit and maybe you will find something in that range that will work for you.

I use Cerave face wash for normal to oily skin. I have oily skin so I use a face wash that is targeted to my needs. This routine is for the night and I only wash at night. I wear makeup all day and also a mask. So I need to clean the trapped dirt and keep it from breaking out my skin. After my skin is clean, I use a toner from La Roche-Posay. I love this toner!! It’s a non-greasy formula. It helps remove any leftover makeup I might have missed during my wash. It also helps smooth skin texture so it’s a win-win for me.
Besides cleansing your face this is probably the top product that I feel is a game-changer for me. No 7 Restore and Renew Face and Neck Serum. This serum is super lightweight and feels silky on the skin. When I apply this product I start at décolleté and work upward. When I reach my face area I don’t put it all over my face just in the “I need” areas. But I add a tiny bit on the pad of my ring finger and tap both ring fingers together and tap gently under my eyes. Remember your under-eye area is so delicate. So please be so gentle.
The final step is to moisturize. Since its night time, we are gonna use heavy cream. For me my skin needs moisture. You would think I would want to stay away from heavy cream since I have oily skin but I need the repair to happen overnight and lock in all the moisture.
To help lock in the moisture that my skin is needing I reach for Olay Regenrist Micro Sculpting Face Cream. I have been using this forever. Yeah it might feel like this is so out dated but Olay really helps my skin look fresh and deeply hydrated. This cream helps erase fine lines and improves elasticity. And that’s everything I want in a night time cream.

I want to know your go-to skincare products. I hope your enjoyed my back to basic skincare night routine. I do have other product’s that I switch or add in. I could do another post to show you those items and how I use them. I love this community and being able to create creative content for you.
