If I could describe myself as a creator in 3 words, they would be: vibrant, outgoing & warm/welcoming. Yes, I did add an extra word to describe myself lol. The reason why those are the first words that come to mind when I think of myself as a creator is that’s how I feel when I am creating sweets for my clients!
Whenever I am at a pop-up event or simply engaging with my clients, I don’t feel like I could be anything less than someone who is genuinely nice and warm to be around. As for the vibrant side, I don’t think anyone will really catch me just wearing neutral colors in general. I love colors! Vibrant colors just make me think of joy and being outgoing. And that’s the way I feel on a daily basis towards Chez Peachy. When people look at my content on social media, that’s the way they get to know me better as a creator! With every photo, video, and story they watch, I guarantee the words I chose to describe myself, are the ones to shine through Chez Peachy.
Christa, what is something that you’re proud of as a creator?
Something that I am truly proud of as an artistic creator is how much growth I’ve made within my small business over the past year. I am so grateful to God for allowing me to work so hard at one of the most important things in my life which is being a cake baker/small business owner. I am proud of the way that I have learned to really put my skills at work without letting any negativity tear down my goals and dreams with Chez Peachy. Being that we are at the end of 2021, I can truly say despite the times I wanted to give up on Chez Peachy, so many positive and encouraging moments came to push me forward.
So yes, I am proud of myself for holding my ground as a small business owner, for staying positive and letting creativity flow always, and most of all for staying true to myself and my beliefs. The way I see it, it only goes up from here and I’m excited for the journey to commence! Also cannot forget how grateful I am for building many meaningful relationships with other small business owners/creators! Definitely proud to be a part of the small business community.
Do you have any advice for someone that is just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone pursuing the same career path as myself or even thinking of becoming a small business owner, just to stay true to yourself. Do not change your ways to please others. I believe as a business owner it is so fundamental to really embrace the person you are and by doing so the people following you on your journey will be grateful for your authenticity! It’s such a key asset in the small business community and I believe it’ll take anyone, genuinely passionate, enough very far.

What do you hope to accomplish as a creator?
What I hope to accomplish as a creator is to really create a positive and memorable impact with my sweets. Especially my lunchbox cakes! With every order made with Chez Peachy, I want it to be a door opening to a special bond being created between my cakes and my clients. That, plus I would absolutely love to open my own little bakery/cafe where people can simply enjoy some delicious colorful handcrafted sweets made with lots of love only in Tucson, Arizona. Maybe if we are really thinking outside of the box, I can open up a couple of Chez Peachy bakeries in other places. Who knows! The sky’s the limit! I just want to make sure that Chez Peachy is mainly recognized for its fun, colorful and positive sweets made from the heart.
I have to ask you a holiday question so, do you have a favorite holiday song?
Oh Lord, I have WAY too many to choose from!!! But I’d have to say one that really makes me feel like Christmas is just around the corner is called “Marshmallow World” by Darlene Love. That song has always been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl living in an actual marshmallow world (Montreal, QC), where the snow would cover every piece of my hometown. There’s just something about that Christmas song that makes me want to go play in the snow and then bundle up by the fire with tons of blankets and a cup of hot cocoa. With loads of marshmallows and whipped cream of course!!!
