It’s day six!! We are half way through the countdown and we have an inspiring creator to meet.
Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year. For 12 days I will introduce you to 12 amazing creators that are doing BIG things and creating. Showcasing others and building a supportive community is so close to my heart. I love supporting others and that was the inspiration behind this series.
Today we are going to fall in love with some delicious pastries, hard work and dedication.
Hey guys I’m Cal. I am a baker that brought my love and knowledge of baking to many homes and supporters around my city. I went to culinary school and was a baker at different bakeries in San Francisco.
After that I saw the need that my home town needed for a bakeshop. I saw it as an opportunity to start my own business.
These donuts were from Septembers picking. Each month I showcase new flavors that are only available that month. It brings excitement and a new variety to the customers.
Chocolate Covered Banana- A banana pastry cream filled donut, dipped in chocolate.
Morir Sonando- Based on a refreshing Dominican beverage. This donut pairs fluffy cream with a tangy orange jam.
Pumpkin Cheesecake- Creamy cheesecake batter alongside a spiced pumpkin butter filling stuffed inside our brioche donut and rolled in a graham cracker sugar.
Conchas are a Mexican sweet bread. Our version of the sweet bread is vegan friendly that won’t crumble and isn’t dry. A sweet, fluffy and soft pastry. Oh and I can’t forget you can even get them dipped in chocolate.
Next were three flavors I offered during the month of April. Like I mentioned earlier the pastries are soft and fluffy. So with that in mind a soft brioche filled with a classic Mexican hot chocolate was the perfect addition to Aprils line up.
Abuelita’s Chocolate- Our soft brioche donut filled with a classic Mexican hot chocolate based custard and rolled in cinnamon sugar.
Creamy Guayaba- Our take on the guava & cream cheese pastry filling!
Vanilla Lemonade- A simple yet explosive combination of lemon curd and vanilla cream. Made with local 🍋 from @yellowbirdfarm
I had the amazing opportunity to have partnerships with local coffee shops around the city. They welcomed my pastries and myself into their shops. I recently took on a new adventure with the team of the most delicious dynamic duo. My donuts meeting a cheeseburger!! That sounds mouth watering just saying those words. A cheeseburger with my beautiful conchas for the bun, chefs kiss.
