Last week I said we are going to turn things pink and today is that day! 💖
Barbie has been hanging with me for a real long time. My mom still has her first Barbie I used to go into her closet just to carefully take it out and see her. Her Barbie is in a case and I would look at all the different things that were in her case that went with it.
Since the Barbie movie is coming out this summer I knew that a barbie inspired eye look is a must. Barbie doesn’t have a lot of makeup happening. So I got the Beauty Bay 2.0 brights palette and went to work.
Ive talked about getting this palette in the great decluttering from the beginning of the year. This palette had a bright pink , a lighter pink and a white for the idea of the look I wanted to create.
I used the bright pink shade Shock to make the crease shade. I started here first so I could create the shape that I wanted and to be able to really make it pop! I used the lighter pink shade Macroon to blend out the lines and it makes the lines not so harsh.
Barbie doesnt have a eyeshadow that goes all over the lid, mostly she wears a color liner or just a crease shade. So when I was planning this look I wanted to stay more true to what she has. That made me go for the white shade. Yes it sounds a little bold but I wanted the pink to be the focus point. The white shade is called Sneaker. It is so creamy and has the lightest shimmer. It turned out to be the perfect combo.
I had a favorite Barbie like everyone. But the best time was when Barbie and McDonalds partnered and they came in the happy meals. They were the perfect size for coming along with me on my own adventures. I still have one of those and it was my favorite. I would show you but she is packed away for safe keepings. Her name is Shannon Miller. Ha ha ha yes she was a gymnastic Barbie and so of course her name had to be Shannon Miller.
