Welcome to 12 days of creators. Creating for me is an important thing and more important is the creators behind it. For these 12 days, I’m spotlighting a new creator each day. I want to give you an opportunity to view their creativity.
Day four is here and we are meeting Meg!

My name is Meg. I was born and raised in Nashville, TN, and have stuck around! I work professionally as a Graphic Designer but love the design/art/creating I am able to do through my Etsy shop the most. Outside of work and creating, I love to stay active–long walks, pilates classes, and anything else that gets me moving hanging out with my cat Kylo, and reading allllll the books.

What got you interested in creating your content?

I am inspired by so many things, but recently my main inspiration has come from books–both old and new! I grew up on Harry Potter, so many of my designs are HP inspired; however, I’ve recently been discovering new fantasy book worlds (Sarah J Maas is a huge inspiration at the moment) and so being able to take these characters and worlds that I love and give them a different, more personal life is so fun for me.

Who is your favorite content creator?

I absolutely adore Hallie with The Common Room Shop. Everything she creates is just amazing, and it is incredible to see how far she has taken her business!

How do you decide what content/style you are creating?

Ultimately, I create things that I know I will like and then hope it translates to others as well! So the style and subjects I am creating are all things that I love (and I am grateful that there are others out in the world who love the same things as me!)

What are some creative challenges you face?

I work full-time as a Graphic Designer for a corporate publishing company, so it is challenging sometimes to find the time to put into this creative side job. However, I love how creative I am able to be with this job as opposed to my full-time job, so I am always eager to give it as much attention as I can when I can because it is so fun!

Can you share your favorite piece and explain your process.

My favorite piece that I sell is my Prythian Courts Stamps Sticker. It felt like such a unique idea, and I absolutely loved how it turned out. I started by thinking of how I picture each of the Courts in the world of A Court of Thorns and Roses, and then I looked for pictures of old, vintage stamps just to get an idea of what I wanted my stamps to look like. From there I drew everything in Procreate on my iPad and created the stickers from there! It has ended up being my best seller, which is always so great when other people love the things I’ve made, too!

I know you can’t get megs stickers off your mind and I won’t even try! I am such a fan of her art and be sure to check out all her social media so you can be a bigger fan than me. Let’s chat tomorrow about an exciting creator. I hope you have a wonderful day.
